Visiting the Culinary Studio
by on 3/1/2010 9:03:22 AM

My husband's birthday was last week.  He has always enjoyed cooking and we both get a kick out of watching cooking shows on TV.  With this in mind, in honor of his birthday, I signed us up for a group cooking class at the Chateau Elan

Wow!  What a treat.  Chateau Elan paired with Viking to create a dream kitchen, they call the Culinary Studio where chefs from their restaurants teach some cooking basics, helping each participant create a meal.  All the while serving wine from their own vineyard.  Talk about a great time!

Our class had a few couples and some small groups of girlfriends enjoying the festivities.  We learned tips about dicing shallots ~ don't cut all the way to the end, made a tasty panzanella salad to go with our smoked salmon and spinach frittata, and of course ignited the obligatory bananas foster flaming show as a finale.  (I will post the movie of Dave making fire on Facebook ~ Friend Me!)

We had a fabulous time, made several new friends, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of creating art in a different medium.
